Carys Cox
Operational Manager - Shore House – Mental Health & Wellbeing ServicesWith a career in Health and Social Care spanning over the last 4 years, I enjoy making a difference to people’s lives, especially for those who face adversity in society. I began as a live-in care worker, moved over to domiciliary support for adults with complex needs and challenging behaviours and progressed to Deputy Manager in 2022. The clients then were primarily those with Autism and Learning Difficulties. I then progressed over to the role of Operational Manager here at Shore House at the end of 2023, working with clients with mental health needs and dual diagnosis.
I find managing the service exciting due to the diverse range of people we support and interact with on a daily basis, which includes our clients and our staff team. I aim to improve staff wellbeing to in turn provide a better level of support and holding for our residents. Happy staff = happy clients! The residents here sure keep us on our toes, but also bring us lots of joy and laughter with their unique characters. It is a pleasure to see them grow and progress despite the challenges they face.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends, family and my bunny, Willow. I also like to read, walk and a good meal out with my partner (where Brighton has plenty to offer!)
