Owen Wellstead
Deputy Manager Archway – Mental Health & Wellbeing ServicesAt the age of 14, I began my career as a newspaper delivery boy. By 15, I was working a milk round, and at 16, I took a position in a supermarket. At 18, I transitioned to a role as a pharmaceutical auditor. At 20, I ventured to the Australian outback, engaging in sheep and cattle farming, which I found to be a magnificent job. By 21, I was managing areas of the outback comparable in size to Wales. Later, I worked in Malaysia, reconnecting with the outdoors. By the age of thirty-one, I had earned both BSc and MSc degrees in psychology. Currently, I contribute to mental health at BHT Sussex and assist in running the Step-Down program. While I miss the freedom of the Australian landscape, the work we do in Brighton brings me immense happiness as we make a significant difference in people’s lives.
