Hi my name is Lynne and I am the Deputy Manager for Hastings Young People Services based in St Leonards on Sea East Sussex.

I started as a bank worker in 2013 and then progressed to a Support Worker.

I applied for the temporary secondment post for the Deputy Manager at HYPS and was successful at the interview. I have been doing this work since February 14th 2021 and it was made permanent in January 2024. I have enjoyed having the opportunity to carry out this role, build up my confidence, and gain new skills and responsibilities. I have continued to build up good relationships with the team ensuring they feel supported and valued. Making sure the clients are receiving an outstanding service that focuses on their needs and supporting them to fulfil and achieve sustainable move on accommodation.

I assist the Operational Manager in the management of all aspects of the service.  Support Key workers to ensure risk assessments and support plans are current and up to date. Make sure clients are receiving the right support for their current needs. Managing referrals, voids and move On’s. Making sure all aspects of Health & Safety are up to date, managing rent, service charge and arrears. Working with statutory services and other organisations in a multi-agency way
