Senior Manager of Operations
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager of Operations to play a vital role in providing support in our North West Sussex Mental Health Support Services.

Location: North West Sussex
Salary: £43,519 per annum, pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Contract: Permanent

About West Sussex Mental Health Support Service:
BHT Sussex has recently been awarded the contract to be Lead Provider for Mental Health Support Services in West Sussex. This new high-profile service will work to deliver improved mental health outcome for people in West Sussex working closely with subcontracted VCSE organisations and SPFT our NHS specialist provider. MHSS are an integral part of the emerging neighbourhood mental health teams and the ongoing transformation of community mental health services in Sussex.
About the Role:
The Senior Manager of Operations will play a pivotable role in supporting this new service and developing innovative and responsive mental health support in the community of North West Sussex.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall accountability for BHT Sussex Getting Support service delivery, governance, and compliance with key performance indicators (KPIs) and staff supervision including reflective practice.
- To promote client engagement and involvement by ensuring structures are in place that promote lived experience expertise in all aspects of West Sussex MHSS BHT Sussex Getting Support services from an individual’s own care to the design delivery and evaluation of services.
- To work closely with subcontracted Partners to ensure the effective delivery and continuous improvement of West Sussex Mental Health Support Services.
- Oversee the management of and performance of staff.
- To be responsible for safeguarding and health and safety in Getting Support Services provided by BHT Sussex.
Person Specification:
To be successful in the role of Senior Manager of Operations you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of BHT Sussex. Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:
- A relevant professional background in the health or social care field and significant management experience within community-based services such as homelessness, addictions and mental health, with high levels of autonomy and accountability with current knowledge of national and local community mental health service transformation programmes.
- Experience of operational planning and implementation including risk management (identifying and mitigating clinical, operational, reputational and financial risks).
- Experience of effective team leadership, motivation, empowerment, development and coaching of staff for performance results in line with contractual and organisational strategic objectives.
- Experience of effective management of contracts, partnerships, and performance management.
