We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to play a vital role in providing support at Shore House, a high support service for individuals with mental health difficulties and dual diagnosis.
Position: Administrator
Location: Shore House, Marine Parade
Salary: £24,293 per annum, pro rata
Hours: 23.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
Contract: Permanent

About the role:
As an Administrator at Shore House, you will be working for a people-led organisation whose mission and values is to inspire change across Sussex.
Shore House is an innovative service providing accommodation and 24-hour support to 20 people with mental health diagnoses and complex needs - this includes those with a dual diagnosis, such as alcohol or substance misuse. Support is delivered both 1:1 and in groups to deliver personalised and flexible programmes of support to build confidence, resilience, and the skills needed for independent living within an 18-month timeframe. We work closely with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust adult community mental health services to meet the needs of clients. Working at Shore House, you will be able to make a diffidence in the lives of vulnerable individuals who face adversity in society.
The Administrator has a pivotal role in the service, ensuring the smooth running of the office and office systems. The Administrator will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks including assisting the project in its rent collection and rent accounting duties. The Administrator will have both telephone and face-to-face contact with residents, BHT Sussex staff and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
To be successful in the role of Administrator you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of the organisation. Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:
- Provide administrative support for the whole project, developing and implementing filing systems.
- Managing data storage points across the project, collecting data for quarterly and ad-hoc reports including those on staffing and void levels, and throughput and output of the service.
- Operating Shore House’s rent accounting systems, including inputting of financial data, monitoring payments, voids, and arrears.
- Maintaining petty cash and carrying out banking as required.
- Placing maintenance orders and completing associated administration.
- Support the management team in updating local policy, procedures and risk assessments where deemed appropriate.
Person Specification:
- Reception experience, including using and developing office systems and procedures.
- Experience providing administrative support to a wider team.
- Computer literate with a high working knowledge of databases and Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Outlook, Excel and Access.
- Ability to relate well to a variety of people using good communication and inter-personal skills both face-to-face and using the telephone.
- Ability to organise own workloads and work independently and pro-actively.
