Housing Services Administrator
We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Services Administrator to play a vital role in providing support at our Housing Services.
Position: Administrator
Location: Brighton, Hastings (flexible on location – to be discussed at interview)
Salary: £24,633 FTE, pro rata based on hours worked
Hours: 30 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

About Housing Services:
Housing Services provides a repairs service to our tenants and a repairs service to other projects in BHT Sussex, housing management and income collection.
Our aim is a quality and person-centred housing service both in our Community Housing in Brighton and Hastings and our temporary accommodation in Hastings, Eastbourne Brighton,Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and other areas of Sussex. Our concept is a well-managed tenancy where landlord and tenant are equitable partners in a business arrangement
About the Role:
The Administrator role will cover aspects of involvement in Major works and Cyclical programmes which will entail organising appointments and access, communicating and liaising between various contractors and staff through liaising with surveyors, project managers, tenants. Sending letters to tenants to advise of the planned works and keep them updated, raising work orders, surveys, post inspections. Keeping spreadsheets and records up to date, communicating to all sources regarding changes, delays and completions.
The Administrator will have responsibility of general housing including voids, lettings, repair, and major works sector and will liase with contractors and internal staff to ensure an organised and streamlined approach to the voids process. You will lead on voids coordination ensuring targets are met and seeking value for money which will include being responsible for the input of data on the voids module and in-house database.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and be accountable for the voids and lettings process.
- To manage the void process including advertising properties and overseeing general void and lettings administration.
- Raising works orders in conjunction with the voids process and organising pre and post inspections.
- Administrating major planned works and our cyclical program.
- Coordinating the mutual exchange process.
- Produce weekly/ monthly KPI reports.
- Cover the Maintenance Administrator and Housing and Performance Administrator if they are absent
Person Specification:
To be successful in the role of Administrator in Housing Services you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of BHT Sussex. Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:
- Be able to coordinate and be accountable for the voids and lettings process including advertising, administration of systems and keeping systems up to date.
- Experience of raising works in line with company policy and procedure.
- Be able to communicate to a range of stakeholders.
- Be able to produce KPI reports to line management.
- Answer queries from a range of stakeholders.
