Supported Placement Coordinator
We have an exciting opportunity for a Supported Placement Coordinator at our SPARC Project (Supported Placements to Achieve and Rally Change)
Position: Supported Placement Coordinator
Location: Brighton
Salary: £12,765 (£25,529 per annum, pro rata)
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term Contract - 24 months (with possible 12-month extension)

About the project and Role:
As a Supported Placement Coordinator, you will be working for a people-led organisation whose mission and values is to inspire change across Sussex.
The SPARC project is for people who have experienced homelessness and are now accommodated in BHT Sussex residential services, with the aim of maintaining their progression from street homelessness by participating in supported work placements within other BHT Sussex services.
This innovative and exciting project is funded from the Brighton & Hove Homelessness Fund at Sussex Community Foundation. The Sussex Community Foundation, part of a national network of charitable funders with a physical presence in every part of the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective delivery of the SPARC project.
- Arrange varied placements within BHT Sussex’s services, supporting participants to gain work-ready skills and to overcome barriers to employment and break the cycle of homelessness, including reducing loneliness and isolation.
- Develop and deliver a programme of participant and mentor induction to ensure both parties are prepared for the placement.
- Provide opportunities for project participants to become a volunteer, bank worker or employee, thereby continuing to motivate others and inspire others by showing that change is achievable.
- Collect data on outcomes from participants, mentors and service managers and compile internal and external reports.
- Represent and promote the SPARC project as appropriate at relevant forums, events and other platforms. .
Person Specification:
To be successful in the role of Supported Placement Coordinator you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of BHT Sussex. Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:
- Understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness, mental health and complex needs in the workplace, and the ability to support and manage these appropriately.
- Experience of supporting people to prepare for training or work opportunities.
- Experience of networking, building professional relationships and collaborative opportunities.
- Ability to self-motivate and manage workload, prioritising tasks in accordance with client needs and duties.
- Ability to translate outcomes into evidence to report on performance indicators and to feed into project reviews.
