Position: Recovery Worker
Location: Jubilee House – Hybrid
Salary: £25,530
Hours: 37 hours per week. Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm
Contract: Permanent

About the project - Pathfinder
BHT Sussex works within Pathfinder West Sussex (www.pathfinderwestsussex.org.uk), a well-established alliance of organisations, including NHS Mental Health Services, working together to enable local people with mental health support needs and their carers to improve their mental health and wellbeing. BHT Sussex leads Pathfinder services in the Mid Sussex & Crawley areas. We have a person-centred ethos which aims to build on people’s strengths and increase their knowledge, skills, and confidence to manage their own mental wellbeing with the support of experienced staff. BeOK is our Youth Mental health support service supporting young people 16-24 across Mid Sussex, Crawley and Horsham.
About the Role
The Recovery Worker has responsibilities of managing a caseload of clients that will be supported both in person and remotely. The post holder will be committed to delivering high quality preventative mental health interventions and will have experience of working with vulnerable people using person centred and empowering approaches. They will be skilled at delivering and facilitating referral, assessment, support planning and case work management.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide support within a prescribed location/service, as defined in your terms and conditions of employment.
- Provide timely telephone, video call and face to face mental health support to clients who have referred to Pathfinder support services.
- Support clients to identify their needs and goals and facilitate development of personal support and recovery plans with clients.
- Facilitate and support clients to access local community mental health resources and services particularly to engage with Pathfinder and BeOK services.
- To ensure that Pathfinder and BHT Sussex’s policies around safeguarding adults and protecting children are always adhered to.
Person Specification:
To be successful in the role of Recovery Worker you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of BHT Sussex. Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:
- Experience of providing emotional and practical support to vulnerable clients with complex needs
- Experience developing structured and person-centred support plans in collaboration with clients
- How mental health issues can intersect and impact a client’s everyday life
- Competent use of Microsoft software packages especially Word, Excel and Outlook
- Commitment to social inclusion, equal opportunities and promoting inclusion and diversity
