We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Administrator to play a vital role in providing support at our Housing Services team.
Position: Maintenance Administrator
Location: Brighton/ Eastbourne/ Eastbourne
Salary: £24,150
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

About you:
To be successful in the role of Administrator you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of the organisation. You will be able to coordinate and be accountable for the voids and lettings process including advertising, administration of systems and keeping systems up to date and have experience of raising works in line with company policy and procedure. You will also be able to communicate and answer queries from a range of stakeholders.
About Housing Services
Housing Services provides general needs housing to our 430 properties in Hastings, Brighton and Eastbourne. On top of this we also provide a repairs service to our tenants as well as a repairs service to other projects in BHT Sussex. Income Recovery also comes under the Housing Services umbrella.
Our aim is to provide a high quality and person-centred housing service both in our Community Housing in Brighton and Hastings and our temporary accommodation in Eastbourne and Brighton. Our concept is a well-managed tenancy where landlord and tenant are equitable partners in a business arrangement
About the Role
As Maintenance Administrator, you will be working for a people-led organisation whose mission and values is to inspire change across Sussex.
You will have responsibility for the day to day repairs process throughout BHT Sussex. You will take calls directly from our tenants or from managers of our projects and raise appropriate work orders. You’ll liaise with our contractors to ensure that repairs are carried out within an appropriate timescale, within budget and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and be accountable for the day to day repairs process.
- Raising works orders for day to day repairs across BHT Sussex.
- Taking calls from tenants, clients and project managers in relation to repair requests
- Ensuring system is up to date
- Contacting contractors and ensuring that work is completed on time and with budget.
- Liaising with colleagues at all levels at BHT Sussex to ensure that cases are progressed and repairs are not delayed.
- Contacting tenants and clients to update them on the progress of their repair request.
Person Specification:
To be successful in the role of Maintenance Administrator you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of BHT Sussex. Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:
- Experience within the Housing sector
- Experience of accurately administering repairs systems
- Experience of liaising with tenant, staff and contractors to resolve repairs
- An understanding of budgets to allocate purchase orders to the correct project
